July Affirmations (Monthly Dose of Confidence)

Happy July guys, and welcome back to a new set of daily affirmations. I feel like when it comes to affirmation posts I always start off with “OMG can you believe we’re already at this month?!!” But, honestly, it’s true!! I feel like I’ve lived 30 days in 1 because of how fast the year has been. It’s incredible how life can literally pass by without you even realizing it. Which is why we need to make the most out of the rest of the year. For our July Affirmations, I really wanted to focus on intentionality and what it means to live in the moment.

Daily July Affirmations

The July Challenge

As I said earlier, life passes by in the blink of an eye. One second it’s January 1st and the next it’s July 1st, and we’re stuck wondering where all our time went. Which is why I’ve decided that this months challenge is going to be….. limiting our screen time.

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking:
“What? My phone is literally my life!”

And trust me, I totally understand, but I’ve realized that I’ve spent more time on my phone than on myself. Apple released an app earlier in the year called Screen Time, which analyzes how much you use your phone throughout the week. Last week, I got congratulated for decreasing my screen time by 13%.

But, that 13% meant that I used my phone for 5 hours and 5 minutes EVERY. SINGLE. DAY… Congratulations right?

I thought they were going to tell me “Congrats you’ve used your phone for 5 hours this week, you’ve been living in the moment.”

But, instead, I started to realize that instead of living my life, I was with my head down, on my phone, constantly.

And even though most times I work from my phone, that still doesn’t justify me spending 5 hours a day on it.

Therefore, for this month, let’s all try to limit the amount of time we spend on our phones.

How will we do this?

We will accomplish this by being INTENTIONAL.

Make sure that you only go on your phone when it’s necessary.

If you get a text, answer it and put your phone down.

Don’t open the text, look at it, and then spend 3 hours meaninglessly scrolling through Instagram.

Make the most out of your life by spending time doing what you love.

Read a book.

Hang out with friends and family.

Develop a new hobby.


Start a side hustle.

Redecorate/organize your space.

Take care of yourself.

It’s so easy to get wrapped up in our phones and lose sight of what’s important in our lives. We neglect our work, our family and friends, and most importantly, ourselves. But, we’re only on earth for a short amount of time. Do you really want to spend the majority of it on your phone??

So go ahead, put your phone down and LIVE. I triple dog dare ya!
